Tarangire National Park is among the famous national park of Tanzania situated in the northern circuit. The park name originates from the unique source of water the Tarangire River that crosses the park area. Lying approximately 110km west of Arusha and close to Lake Manyara National Park, it covers an area approximately 2800 square kilometers.

The vegetation of the park is unique compare to other parks as the park covered with vast number of baobab trees, open woodlands with acacia trees, dense bush, swamps area and open grassland dotted with termite mound.

Tarangire is famous for supporting huge number of elephants and baobab trees while other wild species exist includes zebra, wildebeest, impala, water buck, dik dik, lesser kudu,hyrax, oryx, wild dog, lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffes, baboons, monkey and over 550 species of birds include starling, weaver, storks, ostrich, eagles.
